Blaze On is a Fairy Light & Candle brand started by former haute couture colourist, Lisa Durr and her West End performer, hubby, Blaise Durr. In the late 1990’s Lisa made a break from her runway lifestyle and headed for Asia, to search for a new way of life. She met her husband, Blaise in Koh Tao, Thailand and they traveled together for several years.
In tiny rural villages, deep in the mountains they encountered families coming together, to make traditional arts & crafts between their harvests. Artworks were made from the sustainably sourced materials and by-products of local crops and industries. Impressed by the quality & ethics of Thai workmanship, they started a sport-wear label, Climb-On, geared towards visitors to the climbing hotspot, Railay Beach in Southern Thailand. This name later evolved into Blaze On, when they pioneered their first fairy light and candle range.
In 2002 Lisa and Blaise made plans to return to London to start a family. Eager to grow the ethical production model further, they invited a small talented group of Thai friends to collaborate. In Summer 2002 the Blaze On brand was launched with the world’s first collection of all-year-round, ethically crafted fairy lights.
Today Blaze On light products are created in collaboration with 20 rural artisan teams in Thailand. Despite the company's significant growth, production still largely takes place in the homes of rural people. Most artisans are mums who work with Blaze On, between their harvests. As much as possible, designs continue to evolve from the by-products of local crops and industries. Traditionally these have included materials such as mulberry paper, silk, wicker and rubber leaf, giving their creations a wonderfully natural feel. As their catalogue has expanded, Blaze On has opted to weave more colour, sparkle & bling into their light products.
Popular Blaze On designs, such as their best-selling Enchanted Garden Fairy Lights, thriftily make use of off-cuts from Thailand's increasingly vibrant local textiles industry. This progressive symbiotic approach gives both rural & urban communities a second bite at the apple while promoting greater efficiency in the use of local resources.
In the long term it is hoped that these opportunities will not only keep local craft alive and evolving, but also provide the young in rural communities genuine options for their future. Income generated is very often invested in education, giving the young the choice to grow beyond their rural community. Providing work locally does however also offer, school leavers a real option to embrace a more traditional way of life.
Blaze On is an established UK lighting company committed to ethical trading and sustainable product development.

How To Get the Most Form Your Diffuser
How do reed diffusers work?
Each rattan reed contains about 20 'channels' that run the entire length of the reed. Much like 'mini straws', these channels grow up the oil into the top of the reeds. The scent is then naturally dispersed into the air through evaporation - leaving your surroundings smelling wonderful.
How often should I flip the reeds?
Whenever you notice the scene fading a bit or want an extra burst of fragrance. We would recommend turning your reeds once a week.
How often should I replace my reeds?
Replace reeds after they permanently stop diffusing. Over time, reeds can become clogged with dust. Before replacing, flip them. This usually starts the scenting process all over again. If this doesn't work, you reed are probably clogged with dust or overly saturated and in need of replacement.
What should I do if the bottle is not empty but the scent doesn't seem to be diffusing?
Flip the reeds over in the bottle exposing the 'wet' ends to the air. If the reeds have permanently stopped diffusing (due to clogging with dust for example) then simply replace with new reeds.
Can I reuse my reeds?
No. oNce the reeds have been used for a certain scent, you cannot use them for another scent. The recent that is absorbed into your reeds will mix with the new scent and could produce an undesirable combination.
How long do reed diffusers last?
There are many factors that contribute to how long the oil lasts. Fans, humidity, air conditioning, heating, closed doors, drafts, ext. However as a general guide, if used in appropriate conditions it can last you up to weeks.
Can I dilute the oil with water?
No. Oil and water do not mix. You'll end up with warped reeds and uneven wicking. If the scent throw is too strong simply remove a few of the reeds.

How to Use:
· Place the sticks that came with your reed diffuser into the bottle to absorb the essential oils.
· Flip sticks (not the flower) so that the 'dry' ends of the sticks are now closest to the bottle and the saturated end is in the air.
· Place unsaturated (dry) end of the sticks into the bottle.
· Let your reed diffuser naturally permeate your space. Reed diffusers will continue to evaporate into the air, creating a subtle and luxurious scent.
· If you notice that the fragrance intensity is weakening, just flip the reeds.
· Less sticks means less scent. So in small spaces like bathrooms, we highly recommend using fewer sticks.
· Always take care when placing on wooden surfaces because essential oils can leave marks.
